When things don’t go your way

Just last week I had taken the time to plan out the rest of the month of June. I was going to be writing for 30 minutes, and posting on my social media accounts  everyday! I was so excited to build this momentum!

What I didn’t plan for was my husband getting into a wreck, and my baby clinging to me as he ran a fever for a few days.

Have you ever planned for something to go a certain way, and it didn’t?

Being flexible is something I have to intentionally work on a daily basis. I like things my way! But when they don’t go my way or at the time I want them to, I have to be okay with it.

Flexible: ready and able to change so as to adapt to different circumstances

Being flexible isn’t just about being able to touch your toes, it’s about being able to keep working towards your goal even when things don’t go as planned.

Life doesn't stop just because you wrote something in your planner. It doesn’t matter what you planned for, you have to be able to adjust during the unpredictable moments if you’re wanting to accomplish your goals.

I could hang my head low because I didn’t get to write on the days I planned for, but I’m able to realize my son needed his mommy and that I will get to write at a later time ( even if that means at 10 pm to be exact as he sleeps next to me). My goals aren’t ruined because I didn’t get to post on my social media pages on Sunday, but I was flexible enough to be okay with putting my phone down and tending to my husband.

Whatever it may be that’s gotten in your way, I want to remind you that it's not the end. Keep pushing through!
