Read this before you give up

I would be lying if I said that once you started going after your dreams everything would fall into place and that it’s a smooth ride to the top.

But it’s not.

Eddie Cantor said, “It takes 20 years to make an overnight success.”

There are no overnight successes, but there are many people who have stayed up late night after night and finally reached their version of success.

You see, I started blogging in April 2018. I had a dream to write, make stationery products, have vision board parties, and so  much more!

But with every great dream comes great resistence.

My husband shared the following verses with me that encouraged me in my moments of despair. In Exodus 1:15- 20 it says,

“Then Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, gave this order to the Hebrew midwives, Shiphrah and Puah: “When you help the Hebrew women as they give birth, watch as they deliver. If the baby is a boy, kill him; if it is a girl, let her live.” But because the midwives feared God, they refused to obey the king’s orders. They allowed the boys to live, too. So the king of Egypt called for the midwives. “Why have you done this?” he demanded. “Why have you allowed the boys to live?” “The Hebrew women are not like the Egyptian women,” the midwives replied. “They are more vigorous and have their babies so quickly that we cannot get there in time.” So God was good to the midwives, and the Israelites continued to multiply, growing more and more powerful.”

My husband said to me, “You’re the Israelite woman here, your dream is the baby boy that you need to birth, and Pharaoh is trying to  kill that dream.”

All I could say was “WOW!” Get you a husband who brings strong revelations to you!

I’ve wanted my dream to be birthed, and I feel so close to the next step, I’m feeling the labor pains and it’s hard. And then there is a pharaoh, an enemy who wants to make sure those dreams inside of us never come out.

It’s January 21 and my planner is still not ready. Everything in me wants to give up, but I refuse. Why? Because I know my dream matters. God has called me to help others change their lives through simple daily practices such as scheduling their days, expressing gratitude, and declaring what they want to see.

Today is your reminder that your dream matters. Don’t lose sight of the greatness inside of you. I encourage you to keep pushing until that dream is birthed, not only will you be blessed by it but so will those around you.
