Faith lived out
Faith has become such a common word that it’s almost easy to forget what it really means. This month I focused on faith through it’s description in Hebrews 11:1, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Another translation describes it as “the assurance of things you have hoped for, the absolute conviction that there are realities you’ve never seen.”
Faith is seeing beyond your current circumstances, it’s believing the promises God has for you even though you may have never seen them yet.
I had the honor of interviewing a dear friend of ours, Alicia Acevedo, who I believed has been living a great example of what a life of faith looks like.
Here are some highlights from our conversation
Alicia was let go from her job of 12 years when she decided to pursue her dream of becoming a beautician.
“Don’t let your push backs push you back, let them push you forward.”
Just because there’s been giants along the way, it didn’t stop Alicia from fighting for the blessing God had for her.
Alicia’s family saw the value in investing in her dreams, even though it meant making temporary sacrifices to get there.
Alicia discussed how at 35, there’s no age limit to pursuing your dreams.
Alicia intentionally turns to God as her source through prayer, doing life with other like minded women, and pushes through each obstacle.
